Competitive Cyclist's review of the Look Keo Carbon Blade Pedal. The Look Keo Carbon Blade pedal is the next revolution from the company that invented the clipless pedal. For more information, please visit www.competitivecyclist.com
I like the way they look, but $500 for pedals is a joke. I have 10,000+ miles on my Shimano DA pedals and never had a problem with anything. They aren’t even wore out yet. Clip and forget.
I’ve put around 1500km on my Keo Sprints, which are mediocre competitive pedals and I never got any creeks.
I’ve had the cheap Shimano SPD-SL pedals and boy they creek like hell.
Not saying all pedals creek. It depends on the bearing system manufactures use.
As you may have noticed, the new Keo’s have a stainless steel plate, which stops the fast wear rate the older completely carbon Keo’s had. Also, if you clean your cleats and pedals regularly, the creak will go away. I’ve had pedal creak with all the major pedal brands, simply giving them a clean makes it go away.
@orbliv
Everyone uses cleat covers and this is over several seasons.
@OberonRacing all in one season huh? i call bs.
I want them!
My whole team is going to Shimano pedals because although light, the Keo Carbons wore faster then the cleat, not to mention the “keo creak”.
I think I may be switching out my shimanos for these very soon
i like ‘em
Nice!
Great review thanks! I may consider these pedals!
