that thing is so aerodynamic that the wind wouldnt do much for him.

Incredible speed and I now its a bicycle BUT you can’t
really call it a bicycle not with that lid on it .
A conventional bike would be amazing to see at these
speeds, but that would I’m sure be impossible : )

Not much. They’d have a maximum wind speed specified.

    Confusing km/h for m/h

Have you gotten up to 130 km/h? ;D

He must have done it with the wind.

Course they are going in a straight line which would mean they wouldn’t need to tilt as much.

stick to your tricycle, its ok if your special, I have taught every neighbor kid around how to ride my rans stratus but I can see where it could be complicated for an adult to learn lol

I must disagree w you, given enough of a long extremely steep hill a fat man can coast to to 85. It doesn’t take rocket sience to do it and you could in theory do it w the hoopty huffy bu tthe key difference is the skill required to deal w the excessive wheel hop from unbalanced wheels and harmonic vibrations that you have to have the cahonnes to ride thru.

you can barely turn because they are trying to make the hole as small as possible to reduce drag but if you look at the many great designs of practical shelled velomobiles you can still have awesome effiency with out sacrificing useability. Even a standard recumbent is massively more efficient

let it be noted that infact Howard held the land speed record period for a bicycle. The differeciation was that it was in the draft or “slipstreamed” He also shared the “faired” top speed record like this guys are doing, in the double gold rush w Fast Fredy who was the first ot break 55, 60 for the flying mile

this definitely looks like the road from the movie forrest gump, the scene where he finally stops and says “i think i’ll go home now”

“why don’t these guys design a bike where they lye on their front”

They have. It turns out they couldn’t breath. It turns out that breathing is a Good Thing(tm).

Damn, Dude; that’s pretty good. Imagine how fast you could go if you tried it with the brakes OFF.

very long gearing (at least 52 at the front and 12 at the back) and a nice heavy truck in front of you will do miracles.

Be sure to have brakes with a hard compound (soft ones just melt at that speed) and tires which are rated for at least 50 MPH (most are only rated for 30 MPH, and I can assure you that you’ll notice how the carcass flexes once you approach 60). Also be sure you know the road, every bend, crease and pothole in it.

You can see how exhausted he is after achieving that speed! Practically collapses into his friends arms. It is impressive but not practical for just jetting onto the freeway, just my opinion.

The wheels have to stick out more than a few mms because the bike balances on two wheels and tilts for steering, so even on a flat and perfectly paved road you’ll be scratching the frames, slowing yourself down and losing balance if your wheel was sticking out only a few mms.

i got max 60kmh downhill with ma shit, could be more but the front wheel wasnt true :P

If the wheel openings are so crucial as he claims, why is he sanding them on the race track with a piece of paper with no accuracy.. ? Other thing is that if the openings are so crucial, why the wheels are visible for centimeters rather than few millimeters..?
